As a Founding Engineer, your responsibility would be to help us build and scale our product from the ground up. You must be willing to bet on yourself and build expertise quickly.

Skills:

  • Full-stack development experience
    • You have designed, developed, and maintained full-stack web applications
    • You have developed high-performance, high-throughput backend services
    • You have worked in production environments and have been on on-call rotations
  • Data experience
    • You have experience working with MapReduce frameworks like Spark and processing large datasets
    • You can think analytically and have performed and analyzed A/B tests
    • You have experience building and deploying machine-learning models
    • You have experience building complex recommendation systems
  • Cloud architecture experience
    • You have experience working with cloud services and have designed and maintained cloud architectures
  • Stewardship
    • You have experience as a tech lead or an OSS maintainer. You can make high-quality technical decisions
    • You can handle production issues and think clearly under pressure
    • You have experience designing and maintaining complex product features
  • Leadership
    • You communicate bottlenecks quickly and resolve differences proactively
    • You work with the team to break down problems and evaluate pros and cons effectively
    • You are a team player and like to understand the context of the product and customers beyond engineering

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of industry experience in full-stack development, data engineering, or machine learning.
  • Strong proficiency in either frontend or backend languages. Preferred frontend language is Typescript (NextJS is a plus), and preferred backend language is anything that is strongly typed (Java, Scala, Rust).
  • Proficiency in SQL and understanding of database design. (PySpark is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud and auth platforms (e.g., AWS, Cloudflare, Clerk) and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with A/B experimentation, ML modeling, and deployments
